Whilst in Bali, I had the opportunity to work with a property developer looking to sell a piece of land. He proposed I visit the plot and draft a description that could be used to entice prospective buyers. The owner is now using my writing to promote his land.
The plot
6,740m² of jungle land with a private driveway, rice field views, and proximity to Canggu without the over-development. A brown zone plot — up to 40% buildable — with surrounding land available for future acquisition.
The challenge
Raw land is one of the hardest things to sell in copy. There's nothing built. Nothing finished. The buyer has to see what isn't there yet. The job was to make the absence of development feel like the point — a rare slice of traditional Bali, close enough to the action but genuinely private.
Extract from the listing
Majestic, tropical driveway that winds through beautifully raw nature, lined by the peaceful flow of trickling water, to your own private entrance and expanse of land.
Golden light filters through the decadent foliage in the afternoon, casting a warm, inviting glow that feels both homely, safe, and secure.
Only the sound of bird song and the trickling of water can be heard, whilst at the higher ground, flat views of expansive rice fields reveal an image of Bali by-gone that is hard to discover these days.
The investment angle
Beyond the lifestyle appeal, the copy also addressed the commercial case — proximity to a $400,000,000 development project expected to drive land values significantly within 10–20 years, and the option to acquire surrounding plots to expand the holding.
